Flat!

There was a lesson to be learned from my two flats on Saturday. We had been discussing the u-tube video where a guy fixes a flat in one minute! That is neat to watch, but they leave out one important thing. Inspect the tire real carefully to see if you can find what made you go flat. Tracy pointed out a little shard of glass sticking out of my tire, after it went flat ....the second time. Remember to check it real good, haste makes waste. Always remember to carry a spare tube, and everything else you may need. And always carry tire levers. The one-minute guy doesn't use them, but I sure need them. And it always helps when you have all your bud's with you to hold your bike up, hand you tools, and provide the second tube when you flat twice.

Great Ride

Great Ride guy's,yes it was dark, and it was cold and Neer road hill's kicked my butt,i wouldn't have it any other way!! There were 5 of us, Terry, James,Tracy,Mike,and Me..good trip up and on the way back, Terry gave us a lesson on how to change a tire in less then 10 minutes! (twice) hahahahahahahahaha!!But we all had a good time and i think we are going to set up a ride for thursday night,maybe up to Crables and back, for those who didn't go and could have, this is your new ride.

I see they are calling for 34 degrees in the morning, that's gonna make it kind of a punk ride if you ask me, but i hope to see you all in the morning for a run up the hill's to gandmaw's house(SIS"S) when it's dark and cold, you got to be bold!!jj

Road today. 24 miles in 88 minutes. Had some hills and alot of wet leaves to deal with and a broken spoke about 300 feet from my car. Glad it happened at the end. Am enjoying the rides in the cooler temps. Looking forward to Saturdays ride. I plan on picking up new gloves tomorrow.

Saturday Ride 10/17

Forecast for this Saturday's ride is a chilly 34 degrees. Joe says, "Better get out your extra bloomers". Only a 30% chance of rain, though. Piece of cake. Just get out the hand warmers and go!
Due to that, and time constraints, we will take the shorter Neer Road route to Catawba. I will drive to New Moorefield. Lift, anyone?
Route: Moorefield to Mahar to Neer to 54 to Catawba. Like before.
Went to Doc today. Said it was OK for me to ride. (cough) Good.

Can you believe it?? I actually got out and rode tonight, thanks to the invite of BRIAN ,S.. Went up to crabills and back, I had 8 burgers , Brian didn't want to ruin his supper ,so he just had 4. But it was a nise ride, I need something to get me out of this "FUNK" CAREFULL THERE I've been in.. Planning on Sat. ride, but will have to watch my time,,,,,taking the wife to airport shortly after. I rode 24 miles on Saturday. I know it wasn't 50. I thought the trail I was on went for 23 miles but it was only 6 but it had some good long hills. I could have gone to a different trail but did not have enough time. Will have to try another say. It was a great day to ride.
