A woman was killed today during Pelotonia, which was an organized bike ride. Please remember to always be aware of your surroundings and vehicles around you so you can stay safe and continue riding.

Good ride guy's i think everyone was tired when they walked through the door at SIS"S this morning,ready for a break, nice day to ride thanks for coming out, Remember Tomorrow we leave here at 7 am to go watch the tri at CJ then after the water race we jet up to Catawba to watch them pull MCconkey hill, this should be so cool!!see you then.PS..bring a noise maker of some kind(cow bell-horn etc!)

I probably shouldn't ride today,i have a race tomorrow!  The Pro's ride for three weeks full gas,with two days off in which they ride from 4 to 6 hours just to keep the legs warm, but then again were not Pro's are we? Now where did i put my electric scooter?

Drove up to the peak today to scout out what I am up against. Above 11,000 feet it looks like Mont Ventoux. At one point the grade hits 10%. Saw about a dozen riders climbing. Gave each of them words of encouragement.

Planning on climbing Tuesday.

Its done, and there is more gravel on it than you can shake a stick at, maybe they will sweep it tomorrow,if they don't it's gonna be ugly!

They are doing the chip and seal down on Grant road! And they were asked to wait till next week,they said they would be sure to sweep all the loose gravel up so nobody fall's down! Yea ,thats or gov working for us,couldn't wait a few days.The wheels of progress are sometime square!

Some of our CCR riders are in it and some are going over Sunday morning to watch, were leaving here(JOES) at 7am,were gonna chalkbot the hill then go over to watch the swim after they get on there bikes were gonna jet over to the top of the hill on Grant rd and root them on! your welcome to go with us! jj

Boy do I love cycling!

Just finished a 2 hour mountain biking ride that cover 17.75 miles.  Had some pretty intense climbs.  The cool thing is the trail head is a half mile from Doug's doors.

Chip and Seal

A friend of mine just stopped by from the township and told me they are going to start tomorrow on the grant road job! I wrote the people in Columbus who are in charge of the race at CJ this week end and gave them a heads up on whats going on, maybe they can get them to wait a week, hope so, that stuff sucks for a race!! time will tell! jj

Not Good!

Today as i turned off moorefield rd onto Grant rd i saw pink letters painted on the road, it said Chip and Seal with an arrow pointed south!!!!! oh man!! at least i hope they wait until next week after the TRI! But for some reason i don't think they care!!!OH well in everyones life! etc. etc.  jj

Today's ride

35 miles out and back starting at 5,365'. Our highest was 6,144'. But our actual gain was about 2,500'. Tomorrow night the Rush concert. Tuesday will be mountain biking. I have adjusted quickly to the altitude.
