Nice ride today!

Doug and I did 20 miles on the bike path today.  The paths get plowed after snow storms.  They were still wet and some spots were slushy which made it a slower ride than normal but still a beautiful ride.  This was my third ride in just over a week.

Sunny and 50 degrees with a 5 mph wind.

VBL field test results

I did my field test today on a 30 mile ride using my VBL (vapor Barrier liner). The VBL material i used was a Kroger brand bread and food bag (any clear plastic bag will work)next to my skin, i added one sock layer then my shoe and shoe cover. I rode for 1hr 20 minutes and my feet were noticeably more comfortable than last weeks ride in same conditions. The big aha moment was when i peeled the layers to discover that the plastic bag had a lot of sweat trapped inside, sweat that would have frozen in my shoe causing very cold feet. Iam sold on using a VBL layer when temps are in the 27 and below zone, Try it on your next cold ride or hike.
