Saturday 4/11 ride report
This Saturday's ride was again chillier than we like, but we had 6 riders show for an excellent ride and a great breakfast. With a clear morning and a beautiful sunrise, it made you glad to be alive. We had a few dog chases, including a pair of energetic Boston Terriers, but the strangest was a black and white cat, yes cat, chased us across his yard, and then down the road a ways. Don't know what would have happened had he caught us. Lucky for us we were too fast and we outran him. Just when you thought you'd seen it all. We took the longer north route to Catawba, as advertised. Some wise guy suggested we take the standard route backwards for the return trip. Since no one objected, away we went. The return became a hammerfest with Caleb showing the month off didn't affect his conditioning. I think the breakfast, the coffee, together with the McConkey Road downhill, gets everyone stoked, and the race is on! I finished 38 miles tired, cold, but covered in sweat. A great ride. 4 weeks to TOSRV
