Saturday ride report

Well, the south ride went off as planned. Terry, James, Tracy, and Brian C. hooked up at Beatty and departed southbound at 7:00. Brian left early since he had coughed up a lung earlier in the week and thus was only operating on one lung. There was a furious chase, and we finally caught him somewhere south of Oregonia. He performed very well, for only having one lung. We were pacelining like crazy, but we only caught him because he decided, for fun, to take a side trip up an incredibly steep hill we encountered along the bike path. James, Tracy, and I, not wanting to be left out of the fun, went up as well. The part we saw from the bike path went up to about 15%, then it took a hard left, and the part we couldn't see, went up at about 21%. The trip down was exciting, and that hard turn after the 21% was crazy. I was using all the brakes I had. It was the only time I've ever felt that my brakes were inadequate. We turned somewhere past Morrow and finished with 100 miles and change. A great ride.
James, Tracy, and I will plan on the London loop on Sunday. Depart Joe's at 1:00. Bring your map, Joe.
