Or in my case, the Highpoint 72. I retired at mile 72 due to knee pain, having completed all but Mad River Mtn Hill. I performed a u-turn at the base of that hill, (a man's got to know his limitations) then powered my way slowly up Corkscrew Hill, hung a right at Pickerelltown, then stopped at 29 and CR5 and waited for the wagon. James and Brian finished the job, completing over 104 miles. It was a wonderful, scenic ride, a little chilly in the morning, but warming up nice in the afternoon. It's definitely a ride I want to attempt again. Having a sag vehicle is the best. Being a rural ride, you can't count on facilities along the way. Joe's Element, with coolers and refreshments, takes care of all those concerns. Thanks, Joe. The Subway in West Liberty never tasted so good. The hills were awesome, the weather perfect, and the wildlife was neat (see Joe's picture of the little fawn peeking through the tall grass at the side of the road) No, Brian, you can't take it home with you.
When are we going to do it again? Stay tuned.
