The current frame does not have enough width between the dropouts to support the new Rohloff Speedhub so the bike is special ordered.

Trek Response: The District’s are a group of unique single speeds and for that reason we did not consider the Rohloff or any other geared hub while designing this bike. The frame is an OCLV Black Carbon frame that is current to this model year. The same frame can be found on the 2010 Madone 5 Series. Trek dealers are allowed to order what they believe is appropriate for their market and are not required to carry the District Carbon.
