This was an unexpected ride. Since this was the first ride more than 14 miles since November (I do not believe I rode in March) I was planning on riding 20 Miles. These last two weeks have been one of the most trying times of my life. As I approach the ten mile mark where I planned to turn around I was compelled to keep riding. The warmth of the sun, the solitude, the wind rushing by. It was intoxicating. I could not turn around. After 29 miles I convinced myself to turn around. At about mile 38 I stood on my pedals to stretch and when I did I thought my right thigh had exploded! It hurt to push myself over 10 mph. My thigh was killing me. But, as I road the pain subsided and I was able to cruise at a more respectable speed.
My only problem was I had one water bottle and no snacks which made the last 15 - 20 miles really tough.
Average speed: 13.7
Average HR: 138
Time: Slow (4:15:30)
