Next Monday is Memorial Day and as I'm sure most of you have the day off, you would probably want to start it off right with a ride. Well, Julie and I are wondering if CCR would like to schedule a ride that would take us through the Union County Covered Bridge Tour. We would see 5 of the 7 covered bridges and it would be 25.8 miles according to MapMyRide. I am as of now unfamiliar with Milford Center, which is where we would start, but I could see if there would be a place for breakfast. Then again, if anyone has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions.
Oh, and my legs are sore from Team JBK's victory in the 1st Annual Kick N Krank. :) Taking one for the team baby!
I'm in as long as there's a place to eat on route, breakfast and or lunch,,,,,,or even a brunch!!!!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe one of these ladies would buy mine!!!!
Maybe baby!!!!
Count me in. Have to work at 4pm
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not under domestic lockdown, I will be there. Is der Dutchman open on Monday?
ReplyDeleteI just confirmed that "the Der," as us local yocals call it, will indeed be open Memorial Day.
ReplyDeleteSomebody,,, I'm thinking Brian & julie needs to get this ride organized ( route ,time, ect. ect.) so we " CCR " can plan better for this new epic ride..(p.s.) you pickin up , what i'm puttin down BK????

ReplyDeleteMay 31st - 7:30 a.m. meet at Der Dutchman for breakfast buffet ($6.99 w/o drink). Then we drive to Milford Center together and park at the Courthouse. We aim to start biking at 8:30 a.m. You can see the course here: http://www.mapmyrun.com/ride/united-states/oh/milford-center/330127464316382885
ReplyDeleteMight be a stupid question but are we meeting ate the plain city or waynesville der dutchman?
ReplyDeleteWas a stupid question.
ReplyDeleteI looked at the map and it looks like you can add a 7-mile loop and cover all 7 of the bridges of Union County. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen so many comments to one single ride since this blog started!!! way to go BK & JULIE!!
ReplyDeleteAnd to mike,,,,,,, well, no comment.......lol
(From Brian) Yeah, Terry, we could add another seven miles. I wasn't sure what CCR would think of riding more than 30. So what's the consensus? 26 or 33 miles? And yes, M&M, we are meeting at the Plain City Der Dutchman. And thank you, Dad for the approval :)
ReplyDeleteBridge #7 is the string road steel truss bridge, but it's on the loop back to milford center,so lets take them all in, james will buy lunch at the der!! hahhahaah!!
ReplyDeleteI am in for all seven.
ReplyDeleteJames, for lunch I'll have the fried chicken.
Just a lil FYI...My company built the North Lewisburg and Buck Run covered bridges!
