Dan Peyton (Scuba Steve) competed in his first half Iron Man (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run) in Sandusky. I thought it would be a good chance to witness an Iron Man event for the first time and cheer Dan on. Dan did well in the swim but, of course turned the heat up on the bike. At the bike/run transition he was one of the first through. He finished in under 5 hours 30 minutes. I asked how he felt about his performance and time and he responded, "I'm tickled". Dan's wife also competed which I did not realize till Dan was finished. Congrats to both for this huge accomplishment!
*Clock time was for full Iron Man which started about an hour earlier.
